Applications are invited from suitably-qualified, competent, well-motivated, assertive and results-driven individuals for the below post, to appoint for a fixed period of 3 years.

VACANCY NOs: 01/2019                                  Remuneration: From R700 000 (negotiable)

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER: Special Projects                     

Requirements:

  • A recognised 3-year degree in the development planning or related economic development disciplines
  • A qualification in project management will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 4 years actual and relevant experience within the project management and development environment
  • Computer literacy, especially MS Office and MS Project skills, and advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Knowledge of local government and financial management
  • Ability to negotiate grant funding and attract investors
  • Good inter-personal communication
  • Strong understanding of local government legislation
  • Strong reporting and writing skills
  • A valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas:

  • Management of the full project cycle for assigned projects
  • Establishment of stakeholder relations and partnerships
  • Raising of project funds and management of budget for assigned projects
  • Identify, monitor and respond to project risk
  • Contract management
  • Matrix Management and management of professional teams
  • Overseeing implementation of projects and programmes within the stipulated timeframes and reporting thereon on a monthly basis to the Agency as well as other strategic partners
  • Experience in agriculture, property development or special projects (airports, trail networks, etc.) would be a distinct advantage
  • Perform other duties as may be required by USCDA
